1. Kabuli Bagh Mosque

A mosque located on the grounds of Kabuli Bagh is thought to have been constructed by Babur to commemorate his victory over Lodhi. The first Mughal structure to be built in India is this mosque. The massive arch of the doorway, which is made of red sandstone, contains elaborate carvings. The name of the ruler and information about the architects are mentioned in an inscription on the monument.

During the rule of Humayun, a platform known as “chabutra-i-fateh-mubarak” was added. Inside the structure, the main prayer hall is square in shape and has annexes on either side. The mosque features an entrance to the north and octagonal towers on each of its four corners. The bagh draws several tourists because of its historical significance and beauty.

2. Tomb of Bu-Ali Shah Qalandar

This tomb, also known as Dargah of Shah Qalandar Khizr Khan, the son of Allaudin Khilji, has stood stoically for seven hundred years. A saint named Bu-Ali-Shah Kalandar was born in 1190.

3. Tomb of Ibrahim Lodhi

The Turko-Mongol warlord Babur slew Ibrahim Lodhi, the Afghan Sultan of Delhi, in the First Battle in April 1526. His grave is not far from the shrine of the Sufi saint Bu Ali Shah Qalandar.

Many people are unaware that Ibrahim Lodhi’s mausoleum is really in Panipat, close to the Tehsil office, rather than the Sheesh Gumbad within the Lodhi Gardens in Delhi. It is a straightforward rectangular building with a high platform. This historical site is located in the city, around 30 minutes from Kala Amb Park. Ibrahim Lodhi, the final monarch of the Lodi dynasty, is interred in the Ibrahim Lodhi Tomb.

When the Turcko-Mongol commander Babur defeated him in the First Battle of Yalta in April 1526, he was murdered in the First Battle of Panipat. Red-colored burnt clay bricks called lakhori bricks were used in constructing the tomb. Visit Ibrahim Lodhi Tomb’s surrounding garden after you visit the landmark.

4. Salar Gunj Gate

As the name implies, Salar Gunj Gate was constructed in honour of Salar Jung, the Nizam of Hyderabad’s prime minister. Salar Jung, the Nizam of Hyderabad’s prime minister, naturally followed in the footsteps of the Nizam, who was a go-between for the British administration in India. He publicly supported the British administration when the First War of Indian Independence broke out.

He learned of the Indian freedom fighters’ intention to attack the Hyderabad residency and alerted his superiors well in advance so they could be ready to stop them. He was awarded the titles of Salar Jung in addition to being knighted as Sir. Sir Salar Jung was his official title, although the general public referred to him as Nawab Sahib.

6. Kala Amb

The Kala Amb is a significant historical site that is situated about 8 km outside of Panipat. This magnificent location, which played host to the third battle of Panipat between the Maratha army and the Afghan army, has a significant place in Indian history. If traditions are to be accepted, the unchecked bloodshed that occurred throughout the conflict caused the battlefield and the other plantations in the area to turn black.

About 8 kilometres outside the city main centre is the historical landmark known as the Kala Amb. In this location, in the third battle of Panipat, a crucial moment in Indian history, Maratha troops engaged the Afghan army. According to folklore, the war ground and other plantations near it turned black due to the uncontrolled bloodshed of the war. In the middle of the ground, a mango tree began to bear back fruits, giving the land its name, ‘Kala Amb’

7. Panipat Battle Field Memorial

This obelisk was built by the Surveyor General of Archaeology in India at the time, which was under the British rule. The Third Battle of Panipat in 1761 AD is commemorated there. It is thought that Sadashiva Rao Bhau, who led the Maratha resistance throughout the war, gave his life in this place. The location is marked by a brick pillar with an iron rod at the top and an iron fence enclosing the entire area.

Around this monument, the Battles Memorial Society built a stunning battle memorial complex on about 7 acres of land. The Battle Field Memorial is situated in Kala Amb Park and is a battleground that has seen three battles. You experience awe while entering the Panipat Battlefield Memorial.
